Conundrum Wines began as an experiment in 1972 by Chuck Wagner Sr., the cofounder of Caymus Vineyards. His aim was to find the perfect wine to pair with certain meals, leading him to begin mixing & blending different types of wine. At that time, this idea was thought of as "radical", as nobody blended wines during this time period. More than twenty-five years later, Conundrum is still producing some of the best wine blends in the US. Browse our selection of Conundrum Red & White wines below!
The Wagner family source Conundrum in places that are both famed and off the beaten track – in Napa, Monterey, Santa Barbara, San Benito, Solano and Tulare Counties. Its character starts in the vineyard, in small towns where families have been farming for generations and there’s always plenty of good conversation, great grapes and more to explore.. Conundrum is a California-based winery that is known for producing unique and complex wine blends. The winery was founded in the 1990s and is known for its flagship wine, Conundrum White, which was one of the first multi-varietal blends to gain widespread popularity in the United States.
In addition to Conundrum White, the winery also produces a range of other wines, including Conundrum Red, Conundrum Sparkling, and Conundrum Sweet Red. All of these wines are blended from a mix of different grape varietals, which allows the winemakers to create complex and distinctive wines with a wide range of flavors and aromas.
