A graceful wine with cinnamon, earth, strawberries, sweet violets and leesy complexity. There is a lot of fruit depth, with a full body, lifted acidity and dense, ripe, velvety tannins. The finish is polished yet tight. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.

This red is highlighted by macerated cherry, strawberry, rose hip, hay, earth and eucalyptus aromas and flavors. The dusty tannins remain on the finish, leaving a chalky feel, yet this is balanced overall, showing fine length.

In this vintage, the Rocche vines saw more stress compared to Lazzarito. The nose of the 2021 Barolo Rocche Di Castiglione is deeper and spicier on the nose with aromas of rosemary, fresh lavender, cherries, grenadine, and anise. The structure is more foursquare and noble, with ripe tannins and a more muscular feel throughout the palate. It demands time in bottle before drinking over the following 20 years.
