Marchesi di Barolo Gavi is made entirely from Cortese grown on moderately sloped hills in Piedmont's Gavi area. Marl soils rich in silt and sand, with a smaller clay component, contribute mineral concentration and give the wine structure without obscuring its fresh character.
Pale straw yellow with green highlights, this Gavi offers persistent fruit and floral aromas recalling Golden Delicious apple, green almond, and chamomile. The palate is harmonious and savory, pairing naturally with shellfish, fish, vegetable tarts, light first courses, and fresh soft cheeses.
