Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 (750 ml) Tasting Notes
Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 comes from selected parcels of the producer's Clos Apalta estate in Chile's Apalta Valley. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, and 1% Cabernet Franc, bringing Cabernet structure together with supporting spice and depth from the companion varieties.
The 2024 shows red fruit, currants, berries, and dark spice on the nose. Fresh cherry and a light toast note carry across an elegant palate framed by round, persistent tannins. Twelve months in French oak, mostly previously used barrels, supports the wine without obscuring its fresh fruit and long finish.
Critic Ratings
James Suckling Review - Rated 94: A fresh nose full of fruit. Dark cherries, fresh blueberries, spices, crushed stones and olives. A touch of graphite, too. Well-structured and vertical on the palate, but there is also fluidity in the center palate filled with fruit. Tight grip of crunchy tannins at the end before a long, fruit-expressive finish. Drink from 2025.
Wine Enthusiast Review - Rated 91: This full-bodied Cabernet has a nose of cranberries, blackberries and herbs. Fruity and fresh, it offers integrated notes of wood spices that enhance dark berry flavors, leading to a lengthy finish.
