Tasting Notes and Description
Tasting Notes For Joseph Phelps Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Grapes were picked at dawn and held overnight in cold storage before pressing to barrel for native yeast fermentation. The wine was aged for seven months in 30% new and 70% once used French oak puncheons from coopers Dargaud Jaegle, Damy and Ermitage. The lees were stirred during and after fermentation resulting in a richly textured wine with light oak influence.
The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromatic orange blossoms, freshly zested lemon peel, Honeycrisp apple and focused minerality. A bright and fresh wine with balanced acidity and a lingering lemon crème finish.
