Garnet red in color, this wine offers an expressive floral nose with notes of red berries, plums, licorice and spices. It reflects the essence of the Cerequio terroir: sumptuous texture and a very refined character with perfectly integrated tannins. On the palate, the pure essence of Cerequio leads to ripe and juicy fruit notes such as red cherry and red currant. Silky tannins and the bright acidity bring a harmonious and remarkable balance to this wine.
Conteisa is especially suited for braised meat courses with sauces or concentrated red wines reductions. Additionally, this wine goes extremely well with fat cheeses with medium intensity.
Critic Ratings
James Suckling Review - Rated 98:
This Conteisa is aromatically layered with truffle, tea leaf, violets, lavender, blueberry skin, citrus peel and sour cherry. The palate combines full-bodied intensity with ultra-fine tannins, vivid acidity and a long mineral finish. Its clarity and precision give the wine exceptional lift despite its depth.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate Review - Rated 95:
The reduced 2014 crop produced an unusually concentrated Conteisa with crisp definition and impressive structure. Perfumed wild-cherry aromas lead into a dark, substantial palate framed by full, firm tannins. The result is a powerful yet finely detailed expression of the Cerequio site.
Wine Enthusiast Review - Rated 95:
Underbrush, dark berries, new leather and a touch of camphor shape the aromatic profile. Marasca cherry, raspberry, star anise and cinnamon unfold across a taut, sculpted palate. Polished fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity keep the wine balanced and energetic.
