Tasting Notes and Description
Tasting Notes For Domaine Trapet Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Capita AOC 2017
Domaine Trapet Père & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2017 derives from a highly esteemed blend of Premier Cru plots—En Ergot, Les Corbeaux, and Aux Combottes—and even includes small, selected clusters from Petite Chapelle and Clos Prieur. The winemaking reflects the estate’s biodynamic ethos and precision-driven style, typically incorporating 30–50% whole-cluster fermentation and modest new oak, depending on the vintage conditions. On the nose, this wine is vibrant and perfumed, showcasing red cherry, cassis, grilled meat, cedar, and nuances of dark spices and black mineral tones. The palate is deep-bodied, structured yet pure, with stunning mineral energy, fine-grained tannins, and a very long, vibrant finish—with a projected drinking window extending through 2040 and beyond.
