Tasting Notes For Chateau Lassegue St. Emilion Grand Cru 2018

Chateau Lassegue St. Emilion Grand Cru 2018 is a wine that showcases the incredible winemaking tradition and expertise of the Bordeaux region. This wine is a complex blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, carefully selected and crafted with precision to deliver a wine of exceptional quality.

In the glass, this wine has a beautiful deep color with a violet-ruby rim that catches the eye. The nose is filled with the expressive aroma of ripe red and black fruits, alongside notes of flint, rose petal, and violet.

On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with a texture that is both dense and balanced. The bright acidity and freshness of the fruit lift the palate and complement the notes of spice, which are underpinned by silky and elegant tannins. The long finish is driven by the vibrant acidity, which carries the bright fruit and chalk dust-like minerality to a satisfying conclusion.

Chateau Lassegue St. Emilion Grand Cru 2018 is a wine that will age gracefully, developing and evolving over the next decade or more. This wine is best served at around 18°C and pairs beautifully with a range of dishes, from roasted meats to rich stews and game.

Critic Ratings

Robert Parker Wine Advocate Review - Published 31st Mar 2021 - Rated 91:
Based on the 2015 vintage and disgorged with nine grams per liter dosage, the latest release of Billecart's NV Brut Réserve contains fully 55% reserve wines and is showing very well, offering up complex aromas of warm bread, crisp green orchard fruit and citrus oil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied and charming but lively, with an elegantly textural attack, a fleshy core of fruit and lively balancing acids. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

James Suckling Review - Published April 6, 2021 - Rated 94:
Subtle aromas of sweet berries, Spanish cedar and blackberries with some black mushrooms. Medium-to full-bodied with fine yet chewy tannins and a long finish. Solid and racy. Tight now. Drink after 2024.
