Catena Zapata Argentino Malbec 2023 (750 ml) Tasting Notes
Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino 2023 is produced from old Malbec vines in the Catena family's Nicasia and Angelica vineyards in Mendoza. The two sites contribute grapes from La Consulta in the San Carlos area and Lunlunta in Maipu, giving the wine a high-altitude Argentine identity rooted in the family's historic selections.
The producer uses an extended cold maceration before fermentation, followed by a total maceration of approximately 25 to 38 days. Maturation lasts 15 to 18 months in large oak foudres and concrete tanks. The illustrated label traces Malbec's journey from France, through phylloxera, to its modern rebirth in Argentina.
