Tasting Notes and Description
Tasting Notes For Greenwing Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Greenwing Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a bold and vivacious wine that captures the essence of the Columbia Valley. The nose is filled with tantalizing aromas of black cherry, ripe strawberry, loamy earth, and a hint of desert sage. On the palate, this wine is lively and vibrant, with bright red berry flavors, supple tannins, and juicy acidity that carry the generous fruit to a long, graceful finish.
The 2021 vintage was marked by a cool, blustery spring, which led to a small fruit set. However, warm and sunny weather in July and August, combined with low soil moisture, ensured small canopies and slow and measured ripening. The result was small clusters of grapes with incredible ripeness, producing a wine with deep, lovely color, plush, supple tannins, and terroir-driven flavors.
From the storied vineyards of this remarkable region, our Greenwing Cabernet Sauvignon takes flight. Honoring both the rich history of the Duckhorn Portfolio, and the winegrowing traditions of Washington, it is a wine for those seeking new places, new flavors and new experiences.
