Tasting Notes For Flora Springs Trilogy Bordeaux 2018
Trilogy is Flora Springs’ flagship wine, one that dates back to 1984 when their family decided to make the finest wine possible by selecting the highest quality wine lots culled from our estate vineyards in Napa Valley. Back then it was one of Napa Valley’s first proprietary red blends, and today this Bordeaux-style wine continues to be sourced from our own Komes-Garvey estate vineyards. In 2018 this iconic wine brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec grown in St. Helena, Rutherford and Oakville. A spectacular vintage yielded a deep, full-bodied red with dense flavors of black cherry and crème de cassis layered with dark chocolate, espresso bean, hints of licorice and wild chaparral. Warm and generous on the palate, the wine’s time in both French and American oak adds a spicy vanilla character to the mix, while the velvety tannins bring it to a long and satisfying finish.
If you’re a steak lover, you can’t go wrong enjoying this Cabernet-dominated blend with a generously-peppered rib eye hot off the grill. It also works nicely with rosemary-sprinkled lamb chops or creamy polenta with a dusting of Parmesan cheese.

Deep garnet color and a lovely nose of toast, chocolate, and mocha. Ripe, dense, and layered, with smooth, chewy flavors and notes of Christmas spice. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, and 8% Malbec.
Jeb Dunnuck Review - Tasted 1/27/2021 - Rated 93:
The 2018 Red Blend Trilogy checks in as 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, and the rest Petit Verdot. Despite the price point, it's closest in style to the Flora's Legacy cuvée and has a seamless, elegant texture that just glides across the palate. Giving up lots of red and black currants, flowery incense, medium to full-bodied richness, no hard edges, and a juicy, seamless, impossible to resist personality, it's ideal for drinking over the coming 10-12 years.
James Suckling Review - Published Jan. 27, 2021 - Rated 92:
Rich aromas of blackcurrant jam, cloves, dried herbs and orange peel on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with round, sleek tannins. Spiced and juicy with lifting freshness on the finish. A little loosely knit at the end. Try from 2021.
